Students explored Bath and its regions and created a website that informs others about the unique aspects of our city. Students also used the knowledge they gained about the influence of geography and took virtual tours of other cities around the world. Many additional activities culminated in the launching of the webpage and helped the students gain a broader appreciation of how geography affects people’s beliefs, cultures, and interactions with the rest of the world community. The Language Arts tie-in to the expedition examines the theme of how humans interact with the environment. Hoot, by Carl Hiaasen, is a realistic fiction book that portrays adolescent’s concern for the environment and animal’s habitats. Students also wrote about how ecosystems operate and succeed.
