Maine Community Heritage Project
Students were one of eight schools that were selected from around the state to research and scan documents, photographs, artifacts and writings about their city’s historical downtown, and post them for viewing on the web site www.mainememory.net. Students were given historical tours of downtown Bath and the library’s vast archive of local records. They split up into small groups, selected a building and researched its history, including its architectural facade, its business use, the people who used it, and any events related to it. Students created exhibits about their building as a final project.
